Cooking Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate.
Learn how to follow a recipe by understanding recipe
language and develop hands on cooking skills such as the
proper way to use a chef’s knife, sharpen knives and the fun
of safely using a mandolin for slicing.
Our favorite classic recipes tonight are very basic and a
good start for those of you that are new to the kitchen and
want to gracefully entertain.

Techniques taught by authentic Japanese Sushi Chef Mamie Nishide.
She was born and raised in Japan and came to the US to study
business. After graduation from business school and a career on Wall
Street, Mamie abandoned corporate life for her culinary passion.
Finishing a Culinary Arts degree from the Institute of Culinary
Education (Peter Kump) she continued her training at the test
kitchen for Country Living Magazine in NY and Le Bernardin as well
as top restaurants in Manhattan.
Mamie teaches at the Institute of Culinary Education in NY and will
now be a guest chef at Elegant Eating.
Sushi rolling mats are available for $2.00 each.
